SUGGESTED ITINERARY

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar.

Meeting on arrival and transfer to hotel. Sightseeing of  Ulaanbaatar city. Visit Gandan monastery and Natural history museum. Free time. Overnight at hotel.

eFlight to Khatgal village/2 hours/, which is on the south shore of Khuvsgul lake. Transfer to tourist camp by vans /10kms/. You will receive the horses, adjusting the saddle and stirrup, have a riding exercise. Overnight at camp. The camp is located on the lake shore. 

Day 03.

Tourist Camp - Jankhai Mountain Pass. North

After breakfast at camp, start horseback riding  north toward “Janhai” mountain pass cover 18 km, on the way lunch at scenery location. Continue riding toward Janhai mountain pass, overnight in tent.

Day 04.

 Jankhai Mountain Pass - Arsain gol river. North

Continue riding to “Arsain gol”, beautiful place with river and Mongolian biggest waterfall (70mrs), lunch on the way at scenery location. River and water fall merge,   when the rainfall /precipitation/ is above the average. River dries up if drought dominates. Cover 15kms. Dinner and overnight in tent.

Day 05. 

 Arsain Gol River - Ikh Ull Mountain. North

Continue riding to “Ikh uul” mountain. Cover 18km. Lunch at scenery location. If you climb up to the top of this mountain, you will  see as far as 40 kms of distance like on your palm.  Moreover, you should see the other side of Khuvsgul lake. Dinner and overnight in tent.

Day 06.

 Ikh Uul Mountain - Uran Dosh Mountain. North

Continue riding to “Uran dosh” mountain. Cover 20 km. Lunch at scenery location. You have a great chance to see the uniquely shaped mountain from a distance. Mountain looks like an anvil. Therefore, the local people call it “fancy anvil”. Dinner and overnight in tent.

Day 07.

 Uran Dosh Mountain - Khoridoliin Davaa Pass. West

In the morning, start riding to “Horidoliin davaa” mountain pass. This is an entrance to the famous place, Darkhad concave called “Darkhadiin khotgor”. This is not just a simple concave, it is more than that, no words to describe this place. Darkhad concave is inhabited by an ethnic group called Darkhad, that’s why it is called Darkhad land. There are over 300 lakes of various shape and size and surrounded by deep forest, steep rocky mountains. Lunch on the way at scenery location. Overnight in tent. This day total km is around 20 km.

Day 08. 

Khoridoliin davaa Pass - Darkha Concave. North-West

This day you will be riding through the “Darkhadiin khotgor” to Renchin-Lhumbe county, enjoy riding through the darkhad concave. Lunch on the way. Cover 25kms. Overnight in tent.

Day 09.

Darkhad Concave - Jigleg Am Mountain Valley. East

Start riding toward “Jigleg am” harbor. Cover 20kms.  Overnight in tent

Continue riding and arrive at lake. Enjoy the wildlife of Khuvsgul lake. Cover 20kms. Overnight in tent

Day 11.
Harbor - Tourist Camp. South

Travel on a vessel along the west shore of Khuvsgul lake to the same tourist camp as at the start, which will take 2 hours, arrive at camp and lunch at camp. Afternoon free at leisure. Overnight in ger tourist camp.

Day 12.

Tourist Camp-Khatgal-Ulaanbaatar . South

Transfer to Khatgal village by vans and flight back to Ulaanbaatar, arrive at city and check in hotel. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 13.

Ulaanbaatar

Full day free at leisure, shopping etc., in the evening visit a traditional Mongolian folk dancing and singing concert. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Departure
